Bond Info

The Ohio County Detention Center offers 24-hour service. You may bond an inmate from the facility up to $5000, at any given time as our facilities are open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and 365 days a year. Anyone putting up a bond, must be 21 years of age and have a photo I.D.
THIS IS A CASH-ONLY SERVICE. (Bonds over $5000 MUST be done at the Ohio County Circuit Clerk’s office.)

Forms of Bonds
  • Personal Recognizance (ROR) - Your personal recognizance, provided that you promise to appear at all scheduled hearings, trials, or otherwise as required by the Court.
  • Unsecured Bond - An unsecured appearance bond from you or your surety will be forfeited should you fail to appear as required by the Court. 
  • Surety Bond – Surety bonds must not have pending/convicted felony charges and cannot be the Defendant/Co-Defendant in the case. Surety Bonds must be completed at the Circuit clerk’s office.
  • Partially Secured Bond - Cash bail secured by a cash deposit of 10%. When the case is finished, and the court determines you have performed the conditions of your release. The bond will be returned to the surety, and the circuit clerk will retain 10% of the bond. The entire cash bond will be forfeited should you fail to appear as requested by the court.
  • Weekenders - Anyone sentenced to serve weekends must pay eighteen dollars ($18) a day. Payment is due upon arrival to the Detention Center.

If you request the bond money be posted in your name, you must request and sign as a third-party surety.
